Things went horribly wrong. It was a real fiasco. We tried to {compensate|address the situation, but it was like trying to stop a flood with a teaspoon. We're still picking up the shards and feeling the sting of this epic fail.

This issue has spiraled out of control. It's a total catastrophe. We've tried everything to fix it, but nothing seems to be effective. At this point, it feels like we're doomed. Frankly, I don't know what else to do. This is a mess of epic proportions.

Sometimes you stumble upon situations so horrifically bad that you can't help but burst out chuckling. It's like your brain tries to make sense of the sheer level of chaos and just resigns itself to fate, opting for a weak, check here desperate giggle as a coping mechanism.

But then, you remember that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain terrible. And the laughter you felt morphs into a sigh.

Or were we just simply unfortunate enough to witness this spectacle unfold?

Worst Day Ever

It all started with the case of uncontrollable hair. I couldn't figure it to look presentable. As I was hurrying out the door, I stumbled and landed all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was completely running behind for a very important appointment.

By the time I got home, I was exhausted. This day, this atrocious day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out badly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
